Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
a. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
b. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
c. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
d. Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments
Evidence 1: Having students create a Concept Map in my classroom met the standard of facilitating student learning and creativity by allowing them time to create their own project. Kidspiration concept maps are great technological tools that allow students to make resources that organize their information. As a teacher, concept maps allow me to view the thought process of the students. This tool is very effective and efficient.
Evidence 2: In order to bring creativity in the class while using technology, my students created a Life Cycle of an animal book using My Story Book. This tool allowed students to create an engaging presentation and they did it completely on their own. This tool also allowed me to view their individuality.
Evidence 3: To allow my students to engage in real-world issues, I created an Emaze presentation addressing internet safety. Internet safety is so important today because children are starting to get mobile devices at such a young age. The presentation created is visually appealing which is engaging for the students.

Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards•S.
a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
d. Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching
Evidence 1: Using Plickers in my classroom has been very beneficial for formative assessment and meeting this standard. I wanted to see where my students were at within the math lesson I was teaching. In order to do that, I designed an assessment using Plickers because it gives me immediate feedback and that is why this tool is so effective.
Evidence 2: By creating an instructional video that was interactive for my students, I was able to give them a lesson that would allow them to asses their own learning. With this video, the students are responsible for watching the video and answering the questions placed throughout that check for understanding of the content. I can see who has watched the video and how they answered the questions. Being able to get his type of feedback allows me to see who is understanding the topic and who needs a little more work on it.
Evidence 3: In order to allow my students to use digital tools to collaborate and analyze daya, I had my students use Google Spreadsheets and Google Docs to collect and analyze data. Using this tool and letting students collaborate with each other was very engaging for them. The students took measurements of themselves and put it into the Google Spreadsheets to get a better look at it. The students really took control of the project because they felt confident in what they were doing.

Evidence 1: I use Symbaloo in my classroom in order to communicate with my students and colleagues. This tool allows me to share any important resources that we use in class almost daily. This tool is efficient because anyone can access the Symbaloo from my website. Once they get to my Symbaloo, they can click on any little square and it will take them directly to the website. This is a very easy tool to use!
Evidence 2: In order to communicate important news in our classroom, I created a S'more Newsletter that talks about expectations in the classroom, important events coming up, and my contact information. This tool is very visually engaging. Since this is a technology tool, anyone can access the newsletter through my website. This is efficient because students don't have to take a paper letter home every week since I update it every Sunday.
Evidence 3: In order to show appropriate use of technology and to communicate information about digital tools, I created a Thinglink poster for my students. This tool allows students to have access to an interactive poster that gives them links to good resources I have found. This benefits my students when they are doing things like projects. This resource could also be beneifical to my colleagues.
--------
Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility

This infographic displays an engaging presentation of the expectations. Displaying these in the classrooms lets me have the ability to hold the students accountable for what they do online.
Evidence 2: The use of a Meme Generator can be can be a fun way to address classroom expectations. Memes are all over social media. This is a reminder that technology is a great resource if it is used correctly.
Evidence 3: In an effort to promote appropriate use of technology, I created an Emaze to demonstrate that. It gives tips to students as well as parents about what to do and how to stay safe online. It is an engaging way to get the students involved.
--------

c. Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning
d. Contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community
Evidence 1: In order to show effective use of digital tools, I created a Screencast of a website called Funbrain. This screencast explains how to use the technology, as well as how it is an effective tool. By creating the screencast, I hope that my students can learn even though we are not face-to-face in a classroom.
Evidence 2: One way to stay involved in the education community and be up-to-date is to use educational twitter hashtags. By participating in these hashtags, teachers can collaborate with other teachers and gain a better perspective on current issues.
Evidence 3: To be an active member of the educational community, I like to share my lessons on OER Commons. This is a great way to share ideas and get lesson plans. One lesson in particular that I shared was my Project Based Learning lesson plan. By sharing this lesson, I hope that more teachers will begin to experiment with PBL lessons. OER Commons really has the potential to be beneificial to all teachers.
