Symbaloo
Symbaloo is a resource that I used to create a short cut to any and all important websites. This tool is extremely efficient because anything that is important to our class can be accessed through my website! I enjoy using Symbaloo because of its efficiency. All you have to is click one of the above icons and you are immediately redirected to the website. Symbaloo is also a very effective tool for my classroom because the students can access information that we use in cIass anywhere. I am excited to use Symbaloo as a tool in our classroom for its accessibility, I know it will be used often!

Smore newsletter
In order to create this visually appealing newsletter I used the website Smore.com! This website was very fun and easy to use. By putting information about myself and my classroom into this newsletter, parents and students will be able to get a glimpse into the school year. This tool benefits my classroom by its efficiency and effectiveness. The tool is simple to put information into and the end product is beautiful! Smore.com is also effective because it informs the parents of what is going on in the classroom quickly. I enjoyed using this tool because of how easy yet rewarding it is!
Instructional video
I created this instructional video in order to teach my students concepts about the use of punctuation marks. To create this video, I used We Video to put together the pictures I drew and to add in audio. This video is an engaging tool for my students to use because it's very visual. In this same way, the video is effective because the students will take the most important knowledge from the video.
Emaze: internet safety
In order to educate parents and students about internet safety, I have created a presentation with Emaze! This website is the #1 growing presentation software. You can redesign PowerPoint presentations into impressive storytelling! You can add gifs, media, live data, and more. Because of how creative I could be while creating this, I thought it would be a very engaging way to show my students how to be safe online.
thinglink: multimedia sharing
Thinglink is a tool that creates interactive posters. The posters enable you to link information to a picture, which allows the students to access information without having to search for it. I used Thinglink to create an interactive poster about collaboration tools. By using Thinklink, I was able to make a visually engaging poster that gave further information about the sources when you clicked on the picture. This tool is also very efficient and effective. Thinglink is efficient because it allows students to quickly access information about a specific topic. The tool is also effective because the pop-ups give accurate information to the relevant topic. This is a very helpful resource for my classroom because it allows students to gain information from one specific place.
hour of code certificate
This year, I participated in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming. I went to studio.code.org and played the game titled: Frozen. This game required you to code things in order for Anna and Elsa to make snowflakes on the ice. This resource tells you if you've done something wrong and gives you hints if you are struggling. This resource is very engaging because it is in a game-type format and that can be more enjoyable for younger students.
service learning project
The service learning project gave me a chance to collaborate with a real teacher. The lesson plan was made to incorporate technology into an already existing lesson plan. Mrs. Ciresi is the former teacher of Brooklyn Smith. Brooklyn and I worked together on this project. Mrs. Ciresi is a second grade teacher. Her original lesson plan was to demonstrate the commutative property and associative property in a math lesson. This was being done on a white board, but she recently got a Smartboard in her classroom. We decided to find effective ways of utilizing the Smartboard to bring technology to the lesson. We have created 4 artifacts that will assist the teacher and students throughout the lesson. The artifacts include a Quizlet, a concept map, a Jeopardy game, and a Thinglink poster. This project was challenging but it was a great way to give back to the educational community and show the use of technology in the classroom in a positive light.
